Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a government savings scheme for the girl child under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, offering 8.2% per annum with EEE tax status. Accounts can be opened for girls below 10 years of age; deposits must be made for 15 years and the account matures at 21 years of age.
