महिला समृद्धि योजना
Ministry of Rural Development / Department of Posts
Launched on 2 October 1993, the Mahila Samridhi Yojana promoted thrift and savings among rural women by offering a special savings account through post offices with 25% government matching contribution (maximum ₹75) per year. It was designed to build a savings habit among rural BPL women and served as their first formal bank account in many cases. MSY was discontinued in 1998 and succeeded by DWCRA's revolving fund model under SGSY.
